Gretchen Cooper has been practicing law for over eleven years. A Sioux City native and graduate of the University of South Dakota School of Law (Class of 2004), Gretchen knows the importance of high quality representation and is honored to be able to offer that to the
Siouxland community. Gretchen has extensive experience in the trial and litigation realm. Right out of law school, she ran her own firm in Sioux City, prior to moving to Arizona in 2005. In Phoenix, Gretchen was a trial attorney at the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Office, one of the largest firms of its kind in the country, and gained extensive training and experience. She was a mentor in her trial group, attended and taught legal trainings and was chosen to attend an exclusive forensic academy. In 2012, Gretchen was promoted to a supervisor at that firm. Her responsibilities included the supervision of a group of attorneys that mainly handled DUI cases. Gretchen represented clients facing all levels of felony and misdemeanor charges, including, but not limited to Murder charges, Sexual Assault charges, Robbery charges, Drug/Sale charges and other crimes. Gretchen tried over 25 felony jury trials while in Arizona. In summer of 2015, Gretchen and her family relocated back to the Sioux City area, where she worked at a local firm, practicing in both family and criminal law. She is known for compassionately advocating for her clients both in and out of the courtroom. Gretchen opened up the Law Office of Gretchen A. Cooper in spring of 2016. With over a decade of experience, she continues to passionately represent her clients with skill and knowledge. |
